Mental health literacy and inequalities in access to care in Latin America

Abstract

Mental health literacy can influence the inequalities observed in access to care. The gaps that exist in Latin America show that the availability of services does not always translate into their use by those who need them. Recognizing mental health problems, knowing what help is available, and seeking professional support also play a role in this process.
